Haven't posted here in a while (well, I only posted the one time, haha), so I thought I'd share some music.
So anyways, here are some random songs I enjoy :D
1. Jack's Mannequin - Last StrawAnd I scratch these words into a black notebook
I wrote your name on top, I knew you'd never look
I tried my best to fight the atmosphere
To think the happy thoughts
That leave the phone lines clear
I see Arizona stars from here
But Peter Pan is miles away
----
I never understood where exactly this J'sM song came from.... But I love it to pieces <3 Gah, Andrew is amazing and I can't wait for the release of
The Glass Passenger! :D
HERE2. New Order - Age of ConsentAnd I'm not the kind that likes to tell you
Just what you want me to
You're not the kind that needs to tell me
About the birds and the bees----
I'm sure some people will recognize this song from the trailer for
Marie Antoinette. But yeah, it's a great song. I almost feel like jumping around when I hear it sometimes...
That'd be a horrific sight to behold, LOL. Whoo, 80s. Speaking of which... my next song...
HERE3. Billy Joel - She's Got A WayShe's got a way of showin'
How I make her feel
And I found the strength to keep on goin'
She's got a light around her
And everywhere she goes
A million dreams of love surround her everywhere
She's got a smile that heals me
Oh I don't know why it is
But I have to laugh when she reveals me anyway
----
Billy Joel, haha. Is it sad that I was first introduced to him by way of a fanfiction I read ages ago? Ahem, yeah, ok... No comment. ANYWAYS... He's way before my years, but I find myself liking him nonetheless xD Another one next.
HERE4. Billy Joel - Everybody Loves You NowClose your eyes when you don't want to see
And stay at home when you don't want to go
Only speak to those who will agree
Yeah, and close your mind when you don't want to know
You have lost your innocence somehow
But everybody loves you now
Ah, you know that nothin' lasts forever
And it's all been done before
Ah, but you ain't got the time
To go to Cold Spring Harbor no more
----
More Billy Joel xD I love the
Cold Spring Harbor album, even though it was only his first album. This one's a bit faster and fun. Ok, sorry, hahaha.
One more by him after this.
HERE5. Billy Joel - Why Judy WhyOf all the people in the world that I know
You're the best place to go when I cry, when I cry
I never asked for much before, not before
Things are changed, I need more
Tell my why Judy why----
A slower song; also from
Cold Spring Harbor. OK THIS IS THE LAST BILLY JOEL SONG I'M POSTING, hahaha. Sorry guys.
HEREOk I lied Randomly,
HERE is
We Didn't Start The Fire by him, if anyone's interested, LOLLLL.
6. Regina Spektor - Fidelity I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost in the sounds
I hear in my mind
All these voices
I hear in my mind
All these words
I hear in mind
All this music
And it breaks my heart----
Look, I'm moving forward in time! More contemporary, yes? Haha, anyways, I <3 Regina Spektor :) And this song is fun, catchy, and awesome.
HERE7. Something Corporate - 21 and InvincibleAnd whoaaaa, 21 and invincible
Whoaaaa, can't wait to screw this up
And whoaaa, 21 and invincible
I'm in power for the hour
I guess today's gonna blow us away
And it's been autumn since the day that I met you
If I hit bottom, I'd crawl out alone
And I don't wish you know the secrets of summer at all----
So old school. That's what this song feels like to me <3 Good ol' Something Corporate. Andrew McMahon back in the day ;D Oddly enough... this song somehow reminds me of being young... and I'm 17 in September... LOL, I'm obviously
so old.
HERE8. Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski DayI remember at Michael's house
In the living room when you kissed my neck
And I almost touched your blouse
In the morning at the top of the stairs
When your father found out what we did that night
And you told me you were scared
Oh the glory when you ran outside
With your shirt tucked in and your shoes untied
And you told me not to follow you
----
This song makes me cry sometimes. It's just incredibly beautiful. Like basically all of Sufjan Stevens's songs <3 He's amazing :)
HERE9. Joe Dassin - Le Champs-Élysées
Aux Champs-Elysées, aux Champs-Elysées
Au soleil, sous la pluie, à midi ou à minuit
Il y a tout ce que vous voulez aux Champs-Elysées
----
I
love this song! <3 It's actually been my ring tone for a while too, haha. Anyways, more French music, just like my last post xD But just as awesome. Le Champs-Élysées would be the famous street in Paris. And this song is so fun and catchy :)
HERE10. The Elected - Not Going Home
Maybe it's not real, man, this is how I feel
And if it just gets worst, yeah, if I never heal
Well, those are just the breaks man
Cause I'm not going home
And I don't fucking care
Sometimes you can't go home
Sometimes you're already there
And I look at you, I'm there
Yeah, I'm there
When I look at you, I'm there
Yeah, I'm there
----
I went through a period where I was obsessed with this band xD It's Blake from Rilo Kiley! He has such a soothing voice. And this song just feels ... epic, almost. It also makes me feel nostalgic. Awesome song :)
HERE
Bonus: Here's the new The Academy Is... track from their upcoming album:
About A Girl.
Personally, I'm not particularly fond of it... It almost doesn't sound like them anymore :/ And I dunno. It's not a horrible song, I guess. Just... Well, the lyrics aren't great either. What happened William
frickin Beckett?
Feel free to listen and decide for yourself :)
Sorry that was so long! And I hope people actually enjoy these xD
Feel free to comment :)
